Orly Taitz Among Challengers In California Primary Free-For-All
There are 23 challengers to Senator Diane Feinstein, a Democrat from California. Among them is none other than Orly Taitz, whose claim to fame as a birther is exceeded only by the fact that the US Supreme Court sanction slammed her for filing frivolous litigation.
Taitz has repeatedly filed papers with courts around the country questioning President Obama’s legitimacy. Those papers ignore court rules and guidelines for filings, and the California Bar is still apparently investigating Taitz as to whether she should be disbarred (which she should considering the non-stop frivolous litigation).
Whoever finishes second in the primary race tomorrow gets to face Feinstein in November in the California primary system that was revised in 2011 to pit the top two vote-getters, regardless of party affiliation. A variety of polls have set up the scenario that puts Feinstein up against Taitz in November.
As it stands, the outcome tomorrow will spell bad news for the GOP in the state - it could mean no GOP candidate on the ballot in November, a third-party candidate could take the second slot - or in the worst case scenario - Taitz wins the shot to run against Feinstein in November.
Needless to say, birtherism is alive and well - and Taitz is one of its leading proponents.
And even if Taitz isn’t the second leading vote-getter, the news doesn’t get better for the California GOP, as the party’s literally hitting the dregs.
